The Center for Women and Families, KY
The Center for Women and Families (CWF), a sexual and domestic violence support and advocacy center in Louisville, Kentucky seeks to: 1) expand domestic violence screening, safety and referral capacity of health care and social service providers in Jefferson County; 2) adapt behavioral health screening and referral protocols at CWF, targeting children and their mothers, to increase staff competency to identify and refer to behavioral health services and supports; and 3) deliver Kids’ Club and Moms’ Empowerment Programs, twin evidence-based programs expected to reduce internalizing and externalizing behaviors of children and reduce post-traumatic stress among mothers. The target populations for this effort are children and their young mothers (ages 18-28) living in Jefferson County.
