One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center, AL
One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center (One Place) seeks to improve outcomes for adult victims of family violence and their children by addressing the immediate and generational effects of abuse, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences. One Place’s project proposal will 1) enhance existing trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, and social support services to households impacted by family violence; 2) create a new, unique Family Victim Service Coordinator professional position within Jefferson County, Alabama to maintain a long-term, service and referral relationship with adult victims of family violence and their children; 3) coordinate and increase advocacy of adult victims of family violence and their children; and, 4) utilize an evidence-based, trauma-informed curriculum to provide year-round, continual support for children of victims of violence.
