Interface Children & Family Services, CA
Interface Children & Family Services (Interface), a comprehensive non-profit community based organization, provides evidence-based family violence prevention, intervention, and treatment; justice services; domestic violence; mental health; early child and family development; and child abuse prevention services. This project, the Central Coast Family Violence Initiative will enhance intra-agency and inter-agency coordination of care for domestic violence-exposed families within the system of care to address urgent needs.
Using needs assessment outcomes and the priorities set by stakeholders (inclusive of domestic violence-exposed families), Interface will provide trainings and technical assistance sessions for the network of domestic violence advocates to operationalize training materials. In addition, Interface will offer education sessions for early childhood educators to equip them to connect with social welfare or other systems professionals on behalf of children when domestic violence exposure is suspected. And finally, Interface will enhance its own capacity to provide direct mental health services to children, teens and non-abusing parents impacted by family violence.
The Central Coast Family Violence Prevention Initiative will demonstrate the power of: a) assessment-driven strategic systems development, b) capacity building through targeted training, technical support, and community education, and c) inter-agency coordination to maximize the impacts achievable in vast, isolated, and severely underserved regions through networked domestic violence prevention and intervention services providers.
