East Los Angeles Women’s Center (ELAWC), a nonprofit organization based in East Los Angeles, proposes to provide a comprehensive culturally responsive program designed to address trauma and the immediate needs of Latinx children and their non-abusing parent, who have been exposed to domestic violence (DV), family violence (FV) or child abuse, in order to reduce trauma and other negative impacts of exposure to violence and prevent further violence. Project HEAL will increase capacities of various systems such as health, first responders, social service providers and law enforcement, to effectively serve children and victims traumatized and/or injured by exposure to family violence.
