Children's National Medical Center, DC
The Family Support and Enrichment Program of the Child and Adolescent Protection Center at Children’s National Hospital will serve children and youth exposed to domestic violence and their abused parent who live in Washington, D.C. and immediate surrounding areas.
This will be accomplished by: 1) increasing access to trauma-specific mental health care, parenting support and psychoeducation; 2) training child and adult-serving professionals in the victim service, child welfare and law enforcement fields. The Family Support and Enrichment Program will foster relationships to improve systems and bidirectional responses within the domestic violence and child welfare communities; harness human resources to expand capacity and increase access to services; and enhance parents’ skills, knowledge and attitudes to strengthen families.
