Caminar Latino provides holistic, culturally sensitive, and linguistically appropriate treatment to the whole family. This project aims to enhance existing services and support to Latino youth exposed to domestic violence by building capacity to provide new and expanded resilience-building activities for youth, their parents and their families.
Through the Healing Centered Engagement for Latino Youth Project, the process of facilitating simultaneous sharing groups will be documented and prepared for dissemination to the field. Other tools will be developed to document learnings from resilience-building activities such as joint child and adult survivor safety planning and other activities to build connections, deepen trust and promote healing and family engagement activities to promote quality time as a resilience strategy.
Local service providers and childcare resources will be engaged to build their capacity to identify and respond to Latino children and families experiencing violence, and to integrate new and expanded resilience-building activities into their work.
